GMB is seeking members to volunteer as a Workplace
Contact or as Shop
Steward to ensure that your
GMB colleagues are fully informed of and involved in GMB consultations and
activities. These roles would involve
the following:
Contact
- Receiving and distributing GMB communications and information to your own member colleagues
- Directing queries in your own workplace to a GMB Representative
- Operate as a point of contact for your own Branch Senior Workplace Organiser
- Encourage all Staff to become Trade Union Members
Shop Steward
- Representing members within the workplace
- Keeping members up to date regarding workplace issues or current issues within the city
- Attending the occasional Stewards meeting at your Branch location
As a Workplace Contact or Shop Steward, you will be entitled to training,
which will be arranged through GMB’s Regional Office in Halesowen.
